Dakota Johnson takes control of the ‘unsexy’ side of making….
Dakota Johnson is, by her own account, six minutes late. Logging on to a recent video call, she explained that she had gone looking online for a weighted blanket for anxiety and had no idea there were so many different kinds.
“I just need this one thing, and then you’re inundated with options,” she said, “and then that’s like the story of my life. I just end up putting things in a basket and then never buying them.”
Johnson has good reason to be stressed out, though you wouldn’t know it from her placid, playful demeanor, soothing, honeyed voice and varied, low-key enthusiasms. Having launched to stardom as an actor with the “Fifty Shades” trilogy and currently garnering acclaim in the awards-season contender “The Lost Daughter,” Johnson also stars in two films which premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The projects mark the first finished films produced through her company, TeaTime Pictures.

Writer-director Cooper Raiff’s “Cha Cha Real Smooth” features Johnson as Domino, mother to an autistic teenager (Vanessa Burghardt) and engaged to be married. After she meets 22-year-old Andrew (Raiff), who recently started working as a bar mitzvah party starter, things take a turn.
“Am I OK?,” directed by Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne from a screenplay by Lauren Pomerantz, stars Johnson starring as Lucy, who finds her longtime friendship with Jane (Sonoya Mizuno) thrown into disarray by Jane’s impending move out of the country for work, as well as Lucy’s realization that she is a lesbian.

For Johnson, 32, bringing two films to Sundance was a statement of purpose for TeaTime and her grander ambitions for the company.
“As an actress, especially when the film comes out, I’m always finding myself bumping up against something,” she said. “I’m finding either it’s like, ‘Oh, that’s not what I signed on to. That is not the film I wanted to make or that we talked about making.’ Cause for so long, my career has been, I prep and I show up and I do my work, and then that’s it.

And I’ll come in for ADR and then I’ll promote the s- out of your movie and I’ll traipse myself around red carpets. And you don’t have any say in how it turns out, and your integrity as an artist is kind of stunted.”

With “Am I OK?,” for the first time she found herself grappling with much more, all the things previously kept from her in the process of making a movie. Which in this case included two COVID shutdowns of 10 days each on a movie intended to have a production that lasted only 20 days.
“Of course there’s things that are stressful in terms of like, ‘OK, how do we do this? How do we get around this problem and save money?’ All the things that are so unsexy about making movies, but then I feel better about it,” said Johnson. “I feel like every single decision that is made can be made with artistic integrity, it can be creative. It can be, ‘OK, how do we make this work but still push the boundaries a little bit, still reach the hearts that need to be reached?’

“It’s not about control. It’s about contribution. It’s about collaboration,” she said. “It’s about really reaching for an idea and sticking to it and maintaining the integrity of whatever story is trying to be told.”

“He’s not my fan He’s my husband” Carrie Underwood Doesn’t Ask Her Husband for Advice About…
If Carrie Underwood wanted advice about how to play hockey, she’d probably ask her husband, Mike Fisher. But when it comes to her Grammy-winning country music, she said he’s not the first person she goes to. Sometimes, he only hears her songs once they’re out, and everyone else listens to them, too. And when asked why that is, she explained it’s pretty simple: “He’s not my fan. He’s my husband.”
Underwood married Fisher, then a player for the National Hockey League, in 2010. They had their first son in 2015, and Fisher retired in 2018. Then, they had their second son, Jacob, in 2019. The family just celebrated his fourth birthday.
In an interview with ET Canada, Underwood revealed Fisher isn’t someone she turns to for music and career advice. “Nope. Nope,” she said, shaking her head when asked. She explained that while the former NHL player would be “brutally honest” with her, she added, “He’s not my fan. He’s my husband.”

Since her music is something she shares with her fans, she said she’d recorded songs he had only heard when they were finished. “When I’m making music, I’m doing what I love,” she explained. “Obviously, you want that to translate to fans.”
Underwood added that she usually values what Fisher says but noted, “In this context, not so much.”

She also pointed out that she’s not disrespecting her marriage, as he doesn’t ask her for advice about playing hockey. If he did, she guessed, “I’d be like, ‘I don’t know. You looked good out on the ice.’”
While talking to ET Canada, Underwood said she and Fisher have very different musical tastes, confessing, “I don’t know if he would be a Carrie Underwood fan if he was not married to me.”
That is one of a few areas where the couple agreed to disagree. For example, “Carrie does not like hunting one bit,” Fisher shared about his wife, who doesn’t eat meat (Mike and Carrie: God & Country).
“If he could be a vegan/vegetarian,” Underwood added, “my life would be almost perfect.”

On Sept. 27, 2022, Eichner appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to promote his movie, Bros. During the appearance, a fan asked Eichner if he ever figured out why Underwood blocked him on Twitter.
“Carrie Underwood blocked me on Twitter, which I consider a great honor,” Eichner said. “It was one of the great thrills of my life. You know Jesus take, Jesus, follow me back on Twitter I guess I don’t know.”
“Were you tweeting nasty s*** about her?” Cohen asked.
“I think I was — OK, there was a thing where she during the height of COVID she posted a, re-tweeted a speech by some Republican guy saying that kids shouldn’t have to wear masks in schools. Kind of letting her political views be known for the first time. And I guess I made some jokes about that. That went viral on Twitter and I guess she didn’t like that,” Eichner explained.

In August 2021, Underwood liked a tweet by a political commentator named Matt Walsh. This immediately drew backlash from fans.
“… I don’t care who carries votes for because she very clearly is conservative. My problem is that it’s incredibly selfish to not wear a mask. Wearing a Mask is the SIMPLEST way to show human compassion during this thing. I’m so over anti-maskers,” one fan wrote on Reddit.

Another fan argued on Reddit, “She’s PRO parent’s choice for their child. There’s a difference. There’s plenty of people that are for masks + vaccine but having the choice.”
Amidst all the debate surrounding Underwood’s Twitter likes, Eichner shared that the country singer blocked him in a tweet. The comedian posted a screenshot of Underwood’s profile that showed he was blocked with the caption, “ICONIC.”
