Good news for the Lakers as their Former Player is expected to return to the team

Several years ago, shooting guard Jodie Meeks had a successful two-year stint with the Los Angeles Lakers.

During the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons, he was one of the team’s top 3-point marksmen. In 2014, he had a career season, averaging 15.7 points per game while hitting 40.1% of his 3s.

After winning an NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, Meeks spent a couple of months this season with Raptors 905, Toronto’s G League team.

Wenzell Ortiz of Sideline Sources did an exclusive interview with him and asked if he would be open to coming back to the Lakers.

Via Sideline Sources:

“Most definitely,” Meeks responded. “I really enjoyed my two years with the Lakers, so reuniting would be something that I’d be more than happy to do. Aside from being a great locker room presence, I can clearly add shooting, and I’m also a hard-nosed defender. I can come in and give that extra effort off the bench that everybody saw they needed last season. Every team can use a shooter that can make shots for their superstars.”

Three-point shooting has been a relative weakness for L.A. over the past couple of seasons, and even, to a certain extent, during the championship season in 2020.

Shooters such as Meeks, especially those who can also defend and get up and down the court, would go a long way in helping the Lakers recover from this disastrous season.

However, Meeks will be 35 next season. Age is already a big problem for the Lakers, who had several players in their mid- or late-30s.

Even if it was constructive criticism” Andre Iguodala spills truth behind Coach Steve Kerr

On a recent episode of the Point Forward podcast with Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner, the Warriors veteran revealed that it was “worse” than how the T-Wolves guard shared.
The Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards recently made headlines for revealing a rather contentious confrontation with Steve Kerr during his pre-draft workout with the Golden State Warriors back in 2020.

It’s crazy to think that someone as talented as Anthony Edwards was on the Warriors’ radar on draft night back in 2020. While James Wiseman can certainly still emerge as a future star, a future where Stephen Curry passes the torch to Anthony Edwards could solidified the dynastic reign of Golden State for a decade to come.

In his version of the story, he spoke on about the Warriors coach demanding more of him on a drill that’s normally run by Stephen Curry, with Kerr telling him that he “isn’t working hard enough”.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards recently made headlines for revealing a rather contentious confrontation with Steve Kerr during his pre-draft workout with the Golden State Warriors back in 2020.

The Warriors star Andre Iguodala the revealed that it was “worse” than how the T-Wolves guard shared.

“I knew the story about his workout with the Warriors,” said Iguodala on Anthony Edwards. “I knew that story and I appreciated him even more telling it. It was worse than he even said it was.

“They told me. We pulled this kid to the side and said, ‘If you want to be successful in this league, you’ve got to take this thing serious. Don’t go out here embarrassing the league like this.’”

Anthony Edwards has flashed some of his superstar-level talent throughout his first two years in the league. But it certainly feels like he’s only scratching the surface of what he could ultimately become. Steve Kerr probably identified his talent instantly in that Warriors workout and that’s why he couldn’t bare to see him not put in the work.

“That’s why I love Steve,” Iguodala continued. “Steve understands his strengths really well and he’s not afraid to speak truth like that, even if it was constructive criticism. The kid was kind of like coasting. He was like he was tired. He wasn’t even doing nothing to get tired.”

Lakers Joined Teams With Interest Magic Center to boost the coming Season Roster

The Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of work to do to improve their roster for the 2022-23 season, but limited resources to do so.

With Wenyen Gabriel and Stanley Johnson having their team options picked up and Russell Westbrook picking up his player option, the Lakers are limited to the taxpayer mid-level exception of around $6 million and minimum contracts in free agency.

While the expectation is the Lakers will target two-way wings in free agency with their mid-level exception, there may also be another route that makes sense.

According to Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel, the Orlando Magic aren’t expected to tender a qualifying offer to center Mo Bamba, which will make him an unrestricted free agent and the Lakers are expected to be among the teams with interest:

The Toronto Raptors, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to be interested in Bamba, a source told the Sentinel.

While Bamba’s four-year career with the Magic has largely been disappointing since being drafted sixth overall, he seemed to find his form last season, averaging 10.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks while shooting 38.1% from 3-point range on 4.0 attempts per game.

As a rim-protecting big that can stretch the floor and is still only 24 years of age, Bamba is the exact type of player that would make sense playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Whether or not the Lakers will offer him the mid-level exception remains to be seen considering they are believed to be targeting wings. With other teams expected to have interest in Bamba though, the Lakers will have to be aggressive if they want to bring the big man to L.A.

Bamba has a previous connection to James after appearing on his HBO show “The Shop” a few years ago, so perhaps that relationship will work in the Lakers’ favor.

Wall expected to sign with Clippers
Another player the Lakers had reported interest in was John Wall as the expectation is he will be bought out by the Houston Rockets.

While Wall will be coming to L.A., it won’t be to play for the Lakers are reports indicate he will be signing with the Clippers as soon as he clears waivers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo once again proves why he’s the ‘Greek Freak’ with wife

Antetokounmpo, 27, shared a photo on Instagram hugging and kissing his significant other Mariah Riddlesprigger at a concert in Portugal.

Riddlesprigger commented on the post with a romantic message for the Greek Freak, who replied using an emoji that got people laughing.

“I love you so much,” Riddlesprigger wrote. “Making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

Giannis simply replied with an eggplant emoji alongside a pair of wide eyes.

Giannis is the Greek Freak “in the sheets”
This is not the first time that Giannis publicly displays his “freaky” side.

During an old Instagram Live with his partner, who is the mother of his two children, Giannis said he was a “freak in the sheets.”

Understandably embarrased, she told him to stop because children were watching.

During another IG Live, a fan asked the NBA player if he was still a freak in the sheets, to which Giannis responded by raising his eyebrows and asking Riddlesprigger about it, who again told him to stop.

The Bucks forward led his franchise to its first NBA title since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar delivered their one and only championship.

He is known for his childish sense of humor and for having a surplus of dad jokes.

Giannis, whose rough upbringing is detailed in the new Disney movie Rise, doesn’t take things too seriously unless it comes to basketball.

He has won two league MVP awards and an NBA Finals MVP trophy to go with a slew of other accolades.
