Federer leads Richard Gasquet by a whopping 18-2 margin
Emerging Belgian player Alison Van Uytvanck couldn’t go past seasoned.

Ukrainia Svitolina in her opening-round clash at Wimbledon Championships 2021 but did awesome.

The superior experience and skill-sets of the Ukrainian proved decisive in end as Svitolina eventually prevailed in three sets. Though coming out on the losing side in the end, Van Uytvanck left the spectators agape on Court 1 with some scarcely believable shots.

The Belgian later shared a clip of that incredible moment on Twitter. Saying she picked up the shot after watching Roger Federer play that particular slice with great success.

Roger Federer leads Richard Gasquet by a whopping 18-2 margin in the head-to-head. Federer has won his last 10 matches against the Frenchman, also beaten him twice at Wimbledon before (2006 and 2007).

This is a match for the tennis purists, given the delightful wristwork and racket skills both players possess. Federer is the 75superior player, his form is questionable and Gasquet will fancy his chances of causing an upset.

Federer will have to be wary of Gasquet’s one-handed backhand as well as the 35-year-old’s net-play, which can be exquisite at times. While most players would fall back on the backhand slice before approaching the net at All England, Federer often produces the forehand variant to bamboozle his opponents.

Clearly, something is wrong with Roger Federer. Anyone who is watching him play these days can see him. Beyond winning or losing, something logical within this sport is the sensations. What a player shows with his body language and with his blows.

Those of the Helvetian say that there is something that is not working well, but not in relation to his physique or his knee, but to what is happening inside his head. To this day, Roger is playing two games, the one he plays against his rivals and the one he plays against himself within his mind.

Paris, early June. Federer arrived at Roland Garros with a smile on his face and already in the press conferences he could be seen happy to be there again and to give himself the opportunity to gain pace for the grass tour.

The Roger we saw just four weeks ago is very different from now. Everything went wrong on June 16 in Halle. After an acceptable first set, on his part, in the second something happens that makes him lower his arms completely in the third.

He let go, when he suffered a break in that sleeve. Never, since a professional, have we seen Roger like this. “It’s been a long time since this happened to me,” Federer said the other day on Media Day, already at Wimbledon.

“It reminds me of my junior stage, remember, when out of nowhere, I no longer saw positivism anywhere.

I don’t know why it is. I had a moment on a mental level, that I was not liking what was happening,” he added.

Hantuchova opens up on Roger Federer
I believes Novak Djokovic can go on to win the Calendar Golden Slam this year. He feels Rafael Nadal’s withdrawal from of a couple of events and Roger Federer’s lack of form helped him.

“He’s absolutely a level above everyone else and it couldn’t have been tougher for him in Paris.

Beating Rafa and then being two sets down to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals, but he still found a way,”. Hantuchova said.

Charles Leclerc told what he is lacking compared to Verstappen

Damon Hill believes that Charles Leclerc is lacking the confidence that Max Verstappen has possessed since he entered F1 as a teenager.

Despite Ferrari enjoying a strong start to the 2022 season, Leclerc’s championship hopes have dwindled as the year has progressed, with Verstappen now 116 points ahead of the Monegasque at the top of the standings.

Former Scuderia boss Jean Todt – whose son, Nicolas, is Leclerc’s manager – recently suggested in an interview with Italian publication Gazetta dello Sport that the 24-year-old driver “still lacks something”.

In terms of what this could be, Hill thinks that Leclerc’s “anxiety” differs greatly to Verstappen’s approach.

“I think it is that sense of confidence that Max has [that Leclerc lacks],” Hill told the F1 Nation podcast.

“The first time we interviewed [Verstappen], he came on Sky [Sports] and [he was a] 17-year-old guy, and he just knew how to handle himself. He just had so much confidence. It was utterly unbelievable for a 17-year-old.

Charles Leclerc told what he is lacking compared to Verstappen

“Charles is a very charming, intelligent kid, but he’s anxious. He’s got an anxiety there.”

Hill believes that Leclerc’s tendency to admit to mistakes differs from some other drivers.

“The first time I heard him say, ‘I’m really sorry, guys, that was all my fault’, I just thought, ‘I can’t imagine Michael Schumacher saying that ever!'” the 1996 World Champion added.

Verstappen could arguably be feeling a sense of pressure now that his chances of winning the World Championship are increasing; on paper, there is a possibility that the Dutchman could clinch his second title at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Despite this, Hill does not expect this to add any extra weight to the Red Bull driver’s shoulders.

“If you ask him a question about [if he is] worried about something, he goes, ‘No, I don’t think it’s a problem, it’ll work out, it’ll be what it is’,” Hill said.

“His philosophy is perfectly adapted now to coping with the pressure of Formula 1. You can put it out of your mind – that is the tactic. That is what every sportsman has to do.

“You cannot get ahead of yourself. You’ve got to do the job you’re there to do, and he reiterates that every time you interview him.

“Also he’s got the [first] one in the bag. If it was his first [title], then there would be some tension, I think.”

Max Verstappen Promises to go race by race, there is no….because he is not thinking about the…

Max Verstappen arrives in Singapore without thinking that he can be proclaimed two-time Formula 1 world champion this weekend. The Red Bull man maintains that he is not going to change his approach for this race and will go one by one during these last six. Returning to the streets of Marina Bay will be an interesting challenge for him and he is looking forward to racing again.

Verstappen will have his first match point in Singapore to proclaim himself Formula 1 world champion in 2022 . The one from the Netherlands needs a new victory and wait for his two closest pursuers, but it really is not something that he has in mind. He, personally, thinks about the challenge that this weekend represents and stresses that qualifying will be very important.

“We haven’t been to Singapore for a while so it will be interesting to see how the circuit has developed. It’s one of the best races of the year and a great place to be. The qualifying lap is important and we have to focus on that.” During the race, you have to be prepared for everything with the safety cars”, commented Verstappen in the Red Bull preview for the Singapore GP.

“In general, it is a challenging circuit, the humidity is hard on the body and it is very difficult to make a perfect lap. The corners are very narrow and the walls are also close. I  don’t really think about the World Championship , I just want to have an end of positive week and go race by race, there is no rush “, he added.

On the other hand, Sergio Pérez is happy to return to Singapore, where he will race for the first time as a Red Bull driver . The Mexican has not been at his best level in recent races, but he is confident of taking a step forward this weekend and being closer to his teammate.

“It’s great to be back in Singapore, the circuit is very demanding both physically and mentally . It’s been good to have this break after the treble and now we’re looking forward to the last six races of the season. It will be very important to do everything right and add up all the points that we can. We have analyzed what happened in the last races and we want to return to the circuit”, Pérez expressed to close.

RAFA NADAL’S SISTER TELLS HOW MERY PERELLÓ IS DOING – News from the hospital

The tennis player Rafa Nadal  will become a father in October 2022 or, at the latest, in November, according to sources from his environment in conversation with Diario de Mallorca. This medium reported at the time that Mery Perelló , the athlete’s wife, had had to be admitted to the hospital due to complications in her pregnancy, which required surgical intervention. To this day, Mery remains in absolute rest and we know how she is.

The magazine Hello! has now revealed that the baby the couple is expecting will be a boy, although the Nadal family prefers not to comment at all on this issue. However, the sister of the manacorí, Maribel Nadal, who attended an awards ceremony presided over by Queen Letizia on behalf of the tennis player’s foundation, was approached in the middle of the street by reporters who wanted to know more details about the special moment that Nadal and Mery, also known as Xisca, live among their loved ones. How’s he doing?

Maribel did not want to enter the game, but confirmed that both are “very well” in the final stretch of pregnancy. With a broad smile, the board limited itself to confirming that everything is going according to plan and that the whole family is very excited about the imminent arrival of the new member of the clan.

Nadal himself acknowledged, after being eliminated in the round of 16 of the US Open, that he had gone through a period of great nervousness, being so far from his wife during her stay in the medical center (and a possible childbirth ).premature), and that he needed to fully focus on such an important stage of his personal and family life. That did not prevent, however, the Spaniard from going to London to play the last match in the Swiss’s career with Roger Federer, a very emotional meeting in which the two friends burst into tears during the tribute that took place in the O2 pavilion Arena of the British capital.
